Best Vegas Bars to Quench Your Thirst Cheaply

Best Vegas Bars to Quench Your Thirst Cheaply

Strat Entrance Las Vegas

Hi all, it’s time to get our drink on, and cheaply!

This is one of my favorite topics to talk about, write and even do!

Vegas can be quite expensive at times, especially if you are thirsty in the heat of the summer or if you’ve been pounding the strip doing some sightseeing, working up a thirst.

Being from England, there a chain of pubs there called Weatherspoons, where you can get a pint of Guinness or a generic beer for about $3.25 (£2.50)! So, it’s a slight shock to the system when you’re facing a bill of around $10.00 + tax for at least one pint in Vegas!

That being said, there are some “bargains” and deals to be had, you just need to know where and when to find them, and that’s where Whimzy comes in.

Below are some highly rated recommendations from us.

No 1. The Strat

The Strat recently changed its name from “The Stratosphere”, (Odd I know) it’s located at the top end of the Las Vegas Blvd. It’s about a 2 mile walk from Caesars Palace, so if you do not want to be walking in the blazing heat, I would highly recommend getting a taxi or Uber.

It has had an internally refurbishment that was finished late last year and looks the part; the bars, some of the restaurants and casino floor have all had a facelift as well.

The bar you should be heading straight to is the 107 Lounge. 107 is probably one of the best spots in Vegas to see the sunset, and if you are a late-night sort of a person who loves a drink in the early hours (to be fair, who doesn’t?), you should stay up long enough to see the sunrise because it is absolutely stunning at the top of the Strat.

In the summer months, sunrises typically happen before 6 AM, and they are truly beautiful to see, even with a beer or old fashioned at that time in the morning. On the opposite end of the day, sunrise is around 9 PM in the summer months and is a MUST to see as well from here.

The bar is open 24/7, so it allows you to come at any time of the day you like, with a large bar there is copious amounts on offer.

The bar snacks/menu is excellent too, I highly recommend getting the cheese board! The honey combe that comes with the cheese is soooo bloody good that I get it every time that I am there.

The daily happy hour starts at 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and typically gets busy early doors so I would recommend reserving a table with concierge.

The happy hour drinks options are pretty good and even include Old Fashions which is kind of rare in Vegas. It’s a buy one get one of the same drink happy hour, and they are priced around $14-$18 for the two drinks, and for Vegas, that’s cheap!

No 2. Hexx Bar

This bar is centrally located on the Las Vegas Blvd and is a perfect spot to sit back and watch the Bellagio Fountains show unfold.

Hexx is nestled in between Paris and Planet Hollywood right on the footpath opposite Bellagio.

The outdoor patio directly overlooks the strip and is a pleasant suntrap to sit back and unwind in the usual people watching.

The happy hour is rather excellent and is great value, running daily from 3 PM – 6 PM this also includes bottomless mimosas! Be sure to have sun cream with you if you’re are sitting out on that patio as it gets HOT out there!

My recommendation for one of their happy hour cocktails would definitely be THE HEXX! It’s so good, give it a try.

No 3. Bardot Brasserie

Bardot is one of my favorite happy hours in Vegas, the food, the drink, along with the ambience and service is exceptional.

Located in the Aria Casino, Bardot is filled with beautiful furniture and is decorated in a way that could be mistaken for being a restaurant in the heart of Paris. The brass ornate finishes, along with the dark wooden panelling brings together a beautiful French styled restaurant.

The Oster’s and the Salmon Tartare on the happy hour menu are a definite must have, this paired with their fresh warm baked bread and French salted butter that’s served complimentary is mouth-watering.

The happy hour occurs daily from 5 PM – 7 PM.
