What type of transportation is available when I get to Las Vegas?

Most people use taxis, Lyft, or Uber to get around as they are in abundance on the Strip and in or around the airport. If you are looking to get from McCarren Airport to the Strip, we would suggest getting a Lyft or Uber purely because they are about a third less expensive than regular taxi's. However, you will probably have to wait around 15-30 minutes for one during peak times. If you feel relatively flush or there is a large group of you, another suggestion would be to get a limo. These start at around $100 to the MGM or about $125.00 to the Wynn or Palazzo. Once on the Strip, it is straightforward to get around. There are a copious amount of stair bridges or escalators allowing you to zig-zag along the Strip, to pop in and out of as many casinos as you like. Though if you are looking to get from one end to another (from Mandalay Bay to the Wynn), you may want to get a taxi for this. Walking alone would take around you two hours to walk it. And that doesn't include stopping for food or drinks.

Are pets permitted on the Strip or in the hotels?

Yes, but only at a few of them. It is well worth checking with the hotels directly, especially after some changes since Vegas has opened back up after Covid-19

Is Las Vegas open all year?

The pool parties run from March until early November, and 90% of the shows on the Las Vegas Blvd are available all year round. The nightclubs are open all year round, so there are no quiet nights in this fantastic city. There is always something to do day or night! Please get in touch with us to help guide you on what's available for your trip. Find out more on our contact page.

Can I use a cell phone in a casino?

You can use a cell phone inside the casino, though they frown upon you from using it at the casino tables, regardless of whether you are playing or just casually watching.

Do Vegas hotels have free internet / WiFi?

Yes. All of the hotels offer free hotel room WiFi and include it as part of their resort fee. Including free WiFi on and around the casino floors too.

Traveling to Las Vegas?

Air – McCarran International Airport is the primary airport serving Vegas. All of the large airlines and some smaller ones fly into McCarren. If you are visiting Las Vegas from abroad, it's well worth noting that you can see some other great cities surrounding Nevada with ease. Sample flying times to Las Vegas are: from New York, 5 hours; from Dallas, 2 hours; from Chicago, 4 hours; from Los Angeles, 1 hour; from San Francisco, 1 hour; from London, 10 hours; from Sydney, 18 hours. Car – About half the visitors come to Vegas by car. The main highway is I-15. If you’re going on a weekend, expect very heavy traffic, especially driving to or from L.A. Long weekends and holidays are even worse. Most visitors leave L.A. between Friday morning and very late Friday night, but everyone heads back to L.A. between noon and 8 p.m. on Sunday. The trip to L.A. is almost always slower than the trip to Vegas. If you can take Monday off and travel then, you’ll be traffic-free. Bus – Greyhound offers bus service in and out of Las Vegas. The bus terminal is located in Downtown Las Vegas. Greyhound now provides free WiFi and power outlets for your devices. Busses out of Los Angeles leave about every 2 hours. If you go during off times, bus tickets out of L.A. can be around $10-$20 each way, which can be very economical. It would help if you planned to get there at least 30 minutes early and an hour early on busy weekends to ensure you get a seat. Limo – If you want to really live it up and can afford it, one can arrange to have a limo pick you up at your house and drive you to your hotel in Las Vegas. If you go with a large enough group and share the cost of the limo ride, the price may not be as much as you think and can be comparable to going by air on a per-person basis. Train – Sadly, there are none just yet.
